Ardex Pandomo in action

, , ,

We recently did some work on the floor of a private residence and the results were too good not to share. The photographs are of snapshot quality but the floor transformation speaks for itself.

The client desired a high-quality polished concrete surface with a salt-and-pepper finish, but the existing floor was not in good shape. The first three photos in the slideshow below show the state of the floor before we embarked on patching and crack repairs.

Following the repairs we commenced finishing using Ardex Pandomo in a shade selected by the client, followed by sanding and coating with UV-stable polyurethane.

Pandomo enables us to offer a great flooring surface in situations where the existing concrete is of low strength or has surface defects such as cracking. Pandomo’s seamless and joint-free floors give a spacious impression and the concrete feel and industrial appearance ensure a quality appearance in public areas and in private living spaces.

The transformation is amazing. Call us today on (08) 8346 0488 if you’d like to know more.

The expansion of Adelaide’s light rail network “Coast to Coast“, from Glenelg through the city to Semaphore is part of the $2 billion public transport blueprint announced by the South Australian Government in 2008.

The extension of the tramline to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre will provide convenient access to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, the upgraded Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Hindmarsh Stadium and major events at Bonython Park. The project also includes a Park and Ride facility at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, providing an attractive alternative to driving and parking in the City.

Arrunga Surface Solutions is partnering with project contractor Theiss to provide the new platforms along the Coast to Coast extension.

“We’re very happy to be contributing to such an important and high-visibility project,” said Arrunga Surface Solutions Director Dave Shaughnessy. “We all take pride in knowing that Arrunga’s honed and polished concrete is going into the construction of each tram stop on the extension.”

Maintenance is relatively simple if done regularly. Visit our Polished Concrete Maintenance page for hints and advice for maintaining the look of your polished concrete floors.

Special offer for first-home buyers

, , ,

The Federal Government’s First Home Owner Grant, First Home Bonus Grant, and First Home Owners Boost Scheme make it easier than ever to purchase a new home — and now Arrunga Surface Solutions sweetens the deal further.

The First Home Owners Boost Scheme is an Australian Government initiative to assist first-home buyers purchase or build their first home, and is in addition to the First Home Owner Grant of $7000 and the First Home Bonus Grant of up to $4000.

These financial incentives make the option of building a first home more and more attractive to potential first-home buyers, and more and more home builders are choosing polished concrete as their first home’s floor.

Arrunga Surface Solutions now offers first-home builders an additional boost of up to $1000 dollars.

The floor is a key feature of any building, and polished concrete is an increasingly-popular choice of flooring material in domestic environs as Australian home builders begin recognising the tremendous style and versatility that the material represents.

A polished-concrete floor isn’t just for looks: the high thermal mass of concrete helps keep a home cool in summer and warm in winter, minimising heating and cooling expenses — and drastically reducing the house’s overall carbon footprint. And perhaps more importantly, when the construction materials are as attractive as polished concrete, home-builders don’t need to spend extra time and money on cosmetic flooring layers. Everyone knows that concrete is integral to a building’s construction, but expert polishing and preparation transforms it into an essential element of the visual aesthetic as well.

The combination of the Federal Government’s First Home Owner Grant, First Home Bonus Grant, and First Home Owners Boost Scheme means that first home buyers building a new home or purchasing a newly constructed home may be eligible for a $14,000 boost benefit in addition to the existing $7000 grant, bringing the benefits to $21,000. This added to the potential eligibility for the First Home Bonus Grant may bring the total benefits to $25,000.

This assistance gives Australian first home builders flexibility not only in choosing exactly how their home will be built, but also in how it will look and feel. Arrunga Surface Solutions now makes polished concrete floors even more attractive with an offer specifically designed for first home buyers.

Arrunga Surface Solutions will deduct $10 off the cost per square metre of concrete floor it installs for any new home eligible under the First Home Buyers scheme to a maximum of $1,000. When combined with the government incentives, this means that the builder of a new home may be eligible for up to $26,000 in savings.

“We’ve received very positive feedback, both from our client and from members of the public,” said Arrunga’s Dave Shaughnessy. “We’re very proud of what we have achieved here and we offer our thanks and congratulations to HASSELL and Built Environs on a wonderful South Australian facility.”

“We began discussions with Arrunga Surface Solutions during the design phase of the Goyder Pavilion and Duncan Gallery at the Adelaide Showground, having been positively recommended from recent work completed at the Stirling Library.
