When you step through the door at Anaconda Noarlunga you have a floor by Arrunga Surface Solutions finished in Redrock, a hard-wearing, polished concrete finish that produces a seamless, gloss surface. With a warm glow and a rustic finish, Redrock polished concrete floors provide an economical option for any commercial or residential setting.

The institute’s nine research modules house up to 700 researchers looking at ways to foster innovation and improvements in health services, leading to improved health outcomes for the whole community.

The sculptural qualities of SAHMRI’s form aim to inspire and promote the building’s function. The transparent facade showcases two internal atriums, while the building’s form is further expressed by its unique triangulated dia-grid facade inspired by the skin of a pine cone.

The SAHMRI design and construction team worked collaboratively to deliver a flexible, adaptable, healthy and sustainable facility, achieving a LEED GOLD rating. At the recent South Australian Architecture Awards the SAHMRI complex was named as winner in the Public Architecture, Commercial Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Sustainable Architecture categories.

SAHMRI is one of South Australia’s most instantly-recognisable buildings and it is already regarded as an iconic part of the Adelaide skyline. It was an honour to work on the project and to be consulted at such a fundamental level by the architect, and everyone on the Mirafloor team is proud to have our South Australian product represented in such an important South Australian structure. We’re also extremely proud to be part of the revitalisation of the North Terrace precinct and we look forward to placing Mirafloor underfoot in projects to come.

The new Civic and Community Centre is an iconic development for the Town of Walkerville which brings many benefits to the local community. The 1117sq m building, which connects to the town hall on Walkerville Tce, Gilberton, includes a new library, council chamber and customer service area.

Walkerville Mayor Heather Wright said the development would “enhance the streetscape and be an real focal point” of Walkerville Tce.

“A new library, gallery spaces and improvements to the town hall as a venue, will attract more people into our town centre, which can only generate economic and social opportunities,” Ms Wright said.

We are proud to have supplied a Mirafloor surface to this fantastic facility. We think the results speak for themselves.

The Mirafloor team have been hard at work preparing a beautiful polished concrete floor for the Hermannsburg Community Centre and it’s coming up a treat. We’re proud to be associated with a project of such importance to the local community.

Visitors to the Cove Civic Centre will find a spacious foyer where a polished concrete floor, wooden wall panels and a modern reception area are illuminated by natural light. As well as about 35,000 books, magazines and DVDs and a children’s toy library, the facility offers community meeting rooms, business training facilities and high speed internet access.

Marion Mayor Felicity-Ann Lewis says the state-ofthe art, 2000 sq m complex will be a focal point for community and business when it opens in 2015. “The centre will be open seven days a week and is expected to attract about 130,000 visitors a year and give 8000 small businesses access to information and training facilities,” Mayor Lewis says.

“The internal designs – like the overall concept for the facility – have been based on the needs of the community following extensive consultation.”

Star drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes from Red Bull Racing Australia signed autographs and chatted with fans at Autobarn Mile End last night, a site close to our heart thanks to its gorgeous Mirafloor polished concrete floor. We couldn’t help but pop along!

The Autobarn team have been glowing in their praise of Mirafloor. More photographs of Mirafloor at Autobarn Mile end will soon be up in the gallery.

An existing concrete surface was ground and polished utilising the Mirafloor system to create a stylish and contemporary polished concrete floor, and the results speak for themselves.

Arrunga Surface Solutions recently completed a polished concrete floor at the new Target department store in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Concrete is integral to a the store’s construction, but expert polishing and preparation has transformed it into an essential element of the visual aesthetic as well. The Arrunga Mirafloor process will give a modern look and feel to the store’s floor – no more boring vinyl tiles!

Maintenance advantages

The maintenance benefits that Mirafloor polished concrete has brought to Target are significant: costly vinyl strip and reseal costs are eliminated as Mirafloor polished concrete needs very little maintenance. By avoiding the use of vinyl floor tiles Target also avoids vinyl removal and reinstallation issues in years to come, issues which would negatively affect trading hours and profitability. An Arrunga Mirafloor surface can be easily resealed with a green-star rated non-toxic sealer and buffed back to a brand-new appearance at night, ready for service the following day.

Environmental advantages

By utilising a Mirafloor surface underfoot Target will also benefit from the concrete floor’s high thermal mass, keeping the store cool in summer and warm in winter. Heating and cooling expenses will be minimised and the store’s overall carbon footprint will be dramatically reduced. By turning the store’s structural material into an attractive visual element Arrunga has also made unnecessary all the chemicals – oil, plastic, glue – that vinyl floor tiles require, as well as the impact of shipping the tiles from China and disposing of packaging waste locally.
